You also need to check that the cables are not torn or corroded and keep the battery's terminals clean. Keep your gas tank full or at least half full to reduce moisture problems in the fuel system. Fill all the fluids such as oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid and battery fluids.

Exterior Maintenance. One of the most important details you need to check is the exterior of your car because it is the most exposed portion of your car. First, check your tires. Cars need more contraction in slippery roads. It is important to check the tire pressure on a regular basis. Check tires for wearing, balding or alignment issue. You might also want to consider replacing your traditional tires with tires specially designed for cold weather conditions. Make sure that you have a usable spare tire. Check your brakes. This part is crucial to ensure the proper performance of your car during snowy weather. You also need to have reliable wiper blades. Having a clear view of your surroundings is very important to ensure the safety of your passengers and others on the road. Temperatures can crack and tear the rubber blades on your wipers. Fill the windshield washer reservoir with freeze resistant wiper fluid. Visually check all lights, head lights, tail lights, third level brake lights and blinkers. Make sure that all lights are in good condition. You might also want to upgrade to whiter and brighter headlights to improve visibility.
